Remote Engine Starter (TIS / Techstream)
Anyone able to assist with the how-to for the OEM Remote Engine Starter kit for a 2014 Lexus GS 350 F Sport? Kit box states "Attention The installation instructions for this accessory are on the electronic Toyota Information System (TIS). Please see your Toyota dealer for a copy."

Your 2014 GS 350 is not able to use the OEM remote engine start feature via the Lexus app using cellular service from anywhere. The reason why is because the car's Telematics Data Communication module was originally designed to use the now outdated 3G communications. The Telematics DCM of pre-2018 Lexus models cannot be updated/activated to use today's 4G/5G communications needed for the OEM remote start feature. Thus, it's not possible to remote start a pre-2018 GS 350 from [literally] anywhere via cellular service using the Lexus Enform App. You'll have to go with an aftermarket remote start if you want to use cellular service from anywhere to remote start your 2014 GS 350.

Let us know how it goes because a ton of pre-2018 GS 350 owners would like to use the Lexus Enform app to remote start their car using cellular service from further away than just the Smart Key fob from nearby!

@SoloJenk - I'm curious, have you actually heard from anyone that has successfully used this to make a pre-2018 GS 350 capable of remote starting using the Lexus app?
I think what you are attempting to install is probably remote start using just the Smart Key fob from a close nearby distance. It will not provide remote start from anywhere with cellular service by using the Lexus Enform app.
So, what I'm saying is - don't expect to be able to remote start the car [for example] when the car is out in a parking lot and you're inside a building (e.g. store, movie, restaurant, apartment building, etc.) because it's unlikely you'll be close enough to remote start the car using the Smart Key fob.

I'm curious to learn if and how a different (new) Smart key fob is required to make this work - and how it will be adapted to the car's sophisticated and finicky CAN (communication area network) system that combines the ignition system, operation of door locks, trunk, sunroof operation, etc. that necessitates the Smart Key fob be registered with the body multiplex ECU for proper communication with the car's elaborate security system.

The 1st problem is Enform won't take that year for functions. I tried a few months ago.

But does @SoloJenk know, or even care?Maybe he's okay with just using a Smart Key fob to remote start 'if' he can get the Remote Engine Starter installed and sorted out...

@bclexus Not from the Lexus App, but from the Smart Key Fob.
I'm curious, will you be able to use your original Smart Key fobs that came with your car? Or does the RES installation kit come with new Smart Key fobs that require reprogramming?
