Super not thrilled about this. Has anyone reskinned a seat bottom before and can you offer any tips? Also, does anyone have the part number for the seat skin? I have hog rings and hog ring pliers, or at least I used to.

Sorry to see that happened. That would drive me crazy. Likely taking the seat completely out would be the best way to swap, and you would see all the places where it secured. Good luck!

 

Take it to a professional and have them repair it. The oem seat skin is over $1k for just the bottom. You can buy a used seat for that kind of money. I replaced all the seats in my GS with the lux seats(from wrecker) and paid less than $1500 including freight shipping.

lookup reputable leather repair/upholstery shops in your area and gets quotes. Repair should cost a lot less than $1k and they know what their doing.

Probably the airbag deployed, so you can ask about just the seat bottom.

Is the headrest same for left and right?

 

You guys are the best. I wish I could install a full Luxury interior, but even if one were available, I wouldn't be able to swing it right now. I had a Luxury Package 2010 RX 350 and really miss the semi-analine leather. Nuluxe does not even come close to even the standard leather in our Luxury Package IS 350.

I'll look for a local upholstery shop and see if they can repair Nuluxe. Hopefully it won't be difficult. I also have some color wearing off of my driver's side seatback outer bolster that I'd like to have addressed at the same time.

 

DIY:

Fix it with 3M 5200 ( or another non removable permanent marine silicone) ... waterproof.
Apply.
Scrape w/ putty knife.
Poke pinholes.
Sand.
Clean.
Leather paint ( or dye ).
Clean.
Polish.
Leather cleaner.
....
Done.
