Techstream problems with 2008 GS460
Just purchased a techstream adaptor to use on my 2008 GS460It included V13.00.022/V14.20.019/V15.00.26 of techstream
Also multiple drivers
Only driver I could get to work was Autokent
No problems connecting to VIM
However once I got into the customizations menu, the only options which work are tilt/telseco and air conditioning
The others load for a few seconds then the box disappears.
Tried various earlier versions of techstream including 10.30.029 (fartherest back I tried).
No idea what firmware version the cable is running
Tried windows 10 and windows 7
Anyone else with a GS460 had better luck?
Or any other advice from others?
Going into customizations will load 70% of them and I can go into the ECU menu on the main screen for all of them fine
But when I try to change anything in the customizations menu is where I get the problems
For most of them I click to load the customizations and it pops up loading then the loading box just disappears. Even the basic ones such as door locks (for unlocking all or just some doors with the keyfob).

New joiner here. I have the same issue with my GS450h 2006. Doesn't matter if i single click and then click the arrow or double click the configuration ECU. The box just says loading and then it just disappears. I have also contact with the ECU's and can read info from them.
I think the OS isn't the problem. If it was, the software wouldn't run or crash. If it runs, the OS won't (or is unlikely to) affect its particular features.
Same for configuration files, it would crash if they were corrupt or missing.
This is clearly a bug, because if the software was done right, it would clearly tell you what's wrong, and in this case, the error is not handled, and ignored. But with that in mind, only one thing remains: the adapter. Even cheap ones saying "mini VCI" should work, but we never know. I don't say this is indeed the culprit, but this is just what comes to my mind. So you could try buying another cable, or get the same adapter as I have. I have a wireless VXDiag VCX Nano connector, here's what works for me. It is a bit expensive, but it has good reviews and if you buy the wireless version, you can connect the car to a computer in your garage and you don't have to sit in the car uncomfortably with a laptop.

I'm thinking of contacting the local clublexus group and try out someone else's then buy the one that they have if it works
