Default Replace a 2008 GS350?

My wife loves her 2008 GS350. It is time to replace it but I understand that Lexus has stopped making the GS line.
We like the Lexus brand but there does not seem to be a realistic replacement for her 2008.
Does anyone have a suggestion what to replace her GS350 with? Lexus or other brand?

If you are willing to travel, there are still a bunch of new 2020 GS out there. It just a matter of how far you want to drive or fly to get one.

If not, an LS is the next stepping stone in the Lexus lineup or step down to an IS350. I wouldn't go for an ES even though Lexus calls it a GS replacement, it's not the same.

Outside the Lexus Brand, not really much. I do love the 5 series. Also, look into the Genesis G80

I like the 2016-up GS's and I like the 2018 LS-up, but a bit pricey. I dont see any issues with the ES, I especially like the looks of there Fsport. With the 2020 GS you will basically have the same engine and transmission as the 2008 they are solid cars.

The 5-series is an awesome car (to be fair I love this car since I'm 5, but even objectively, it is a good car). I also like the G80 as a whole, but the grille, even if I don't formally dislike it, takes some time to get used to it. In my conservative family, for example, it could get myself talked about behind my back.

But the problem with any other luxury brand than Lexus is indeed reliability. Genesis seem to fare better than Hyundai and not to have as many recalls and fire issues, but this is still a new brand. Turbo engines are turbo engines. They become really expensive to maintain after 150k miles. Either the engine burns a bit or the turbo leaks a bit of oil, or the turbines have become weak. The 2GR engine, on the other hand, can last forever.

Honestly, if you plan keeping it as long as your current GS, and you are OK with how the 4GS is equipped, looks and drives, I recommend you to buy one. Personally, because I think it is handsome and I'm used to peace of mind, this will be my next car.

Cant go wrong with either the GS or ES both are reliable and have proven engines. As for the LS, that engine is still new and hasnt been used on any other platforms.

Won't be too different, but a GS460 would at least be an upgrade in the engine department
Very rare, smooth engine, but still the same generation
