My Lexus GS 460 2k11 brake actuator has started making the buzzing sound quite often. The check PCS system, Check ABS , and CHECK Brakes with brake malfunction notification lights come on, but they also go off after a while on its own. Also when cruising, the car sort of Jerks for a fraction of a second and makes a jerking noising feeling as though something is stuck for that fraction of second.
The error codes i got are 1) C1256 - Accumulator low pressure
2) C1391 - Abnormal Leak in Accumulator
3) C0200 - Front Speed Sensor RH Circuit
The local testing mechanic straight away asked me to change the complete ABS module. Is this true? to me it seems like an extreme option considering the fact that none of the problems are consistent. The jerking happens frequently sometimes and sometimes it isn't as frequent. The warning Lights do not stay on all the time.
Has someone faced the same problem? Is there a way out of this without going bankrupt buying the complete ABS module?
Please help!
This is the downside to the GS460! When you do abs its best to replace module and pump at the same time. We did this to our 2010 Lexus LS460 which has near identical type abs system. You can look on ebay for a low mileage one, GS460/GS450H are the same. But still I would purchase it brand new if the price difference wasnt huge.
This system is totally different then the very reliable GS350

I am quite skeptical about buying it off ebay or the used spare parts available locally...knowing the fact that this is a common problem with this model.
I also think that the part number has changed for the new OEM part. Does any one know if Lexus has made any changes/upgrades to the new part to fix this issue and make it more reliable?
Is this not covered by the TSB that covers the LS 460?
I am not sure if this warranty extension was made by lexus globally.. so far i have seen this on the forums only from the people in the United states. I will be visiting the lexus dealership to check on this but a search online does not show anything about this in my country.

A member on here Designo had his ABS setup replaced twice already so I doubt they upgraded the system. But I would call Lexus and see what they can do, but dont wait to long to get the parts as on our LS460 we waited until the abs pump internal melted itself and almost caused a fire and the brake 90% went out.
I am too outside of US, and it most likely is difficult to get them to repair it for free. But I would try! They do sell brand new discounted abs pumps im not sure if they are counterfeit or not but we purchased them for our LS and so far so good. We paid 6-$700 for both module and pump. You also have to have a shop install it that can register the pump to the car. From what our mechanic told us you cant simply uninstall and reinstall.
I would like to say the replacement part they are using is from 2013 gs450h. I believe that’s the part they used when I had mine replaced under warranty. Not 100 percent sure though.
On my way home last night i got all the same error codes "check abs" check vsc" "afs off" and then they all went away. I'm thinking my abs module is on its way out. Let us know how it goes when you visit the dealer.
Does anyone know the part number for the AFS leveling sensor located on the rear wheel behind the driver's side? I think this may be the issue and not the ABS module in my case.
Does any one have an idea how often does the ABS pump function to refill the pressure?
Does it have to function even in traffic where you are constantly using the brakes but at low speeds and less pressure?
