Default Side rear-view mirrors don't go left/right, only up/down.

Hi everybody,

I have 2007 GS 350 and side rear-view mirrors don't go left/right, they can only be adjusted up/down when using buttons on that drop-down panel. What could be the problem?

Thanks.

Thanks guys.

What would be the course of action to troubleshoot and fix it?

When you press the button to move it, lets say left, can you hear any noise or ticking from the mirror trying to move? Have you tried to lubricate it using white lithium or silicon spray with a straw?

Also try this thread:

I'd look at the switch first. One mirror maybe, but both mirrors with the same problem is less likely.

Actually i didn't read he mentioned "mirrors" in plural, and Cashish is right, could be the switch, if you could hook TS software to the car and test the mirrors can discard mirrors being faulty.
