Default HID ballast cover

Hello fellow owners,

I was searching thru the forum and didn't find anything regarding what I am about to ask. I am going to be replacing my OEM ballast with some aftermarket ones but my question becomes, I want to remove the ballast from the headlight housing but I do not want to leave that hole there. Has anyone removed the OEM ballast and if so, what did you use to cover the space.

Thank you for your input and safe driving 🚘

I disarmed the ballast and used one of the sides to cover it, a hollow cover.

Because I am going for LEDs, no need to have ballast siting there. I am going to find non working ones and use those and keep my working ones.

Oh, cool! Let us know which LED you go to, might be interested in the future.

Hey Milonga, a buddy of mine installed LEDs to his GS using the SNGL Super Bright LED, give it a check. He used the ballast cover, drilled a hole and put a rubber grommet then passed the cables through.

Something like this:

These are the ones:

SNGL Super Bright LED Headlight Conversion Kit - Adjustable-Beam Bulbs - D2S ( D2R, D4S,D4R ) - 110w 12,400Lm - 6000K Bright White - 2 Yr Warranty

Awesome, I'm going to look into it. I haven't posted anything because I'm in school and don't have much time to work on it. Last thing I did was remove the HVAC drain plug because I developed the wet carpet syndrome. If you need help with that let me know, I'll be glad to help you out.
