Default Car won't start with "Check VSC"

Hi guys, my car did not start, not even turn when pressing start button, and on the center display board, I get "check VSC". I am pretty new at Lexus, and wanted to get your feedback before I tow this to the dealer. Anything I should check or look into? HELP.

If it was a main relay, is this something I can do, or need dealer?

I had the dealer do mine.

If capable you can do it yourself, but i had to have my car towed to the dealer when mine failed because the car was unresponsive when attempting to start it. I hope its just a battery or loose or terminals for you.

if the starter motor didn't even budge when you pressed the button...but interior lights/dash lit up....it COULD be a solenoid issue. I had that scenario happen to me in a Honda a few months ago. Car ran fine one day, next morning...put in the key and turn it...ZERO motor/starter motor response. Tried it again...nothing. However, my interior lights all worked so I knew it wasn't just a flat dead battery. Put the key in the "on position" and depress the brake and then shift the transmission down through all the gears (rev, neut, drive, etc) a couple of times. Then turn the key off and then try starting it again. I did this and it fired right up as normal. Got the tip off the internet and it worked for me. Something to do with a transmission solenoid being stuck or something. Weird...but it worked.

First off, what kind of car? When you turn the car on does the check engine light display or no?

Well, It turned out good old simple battery. I had Interstate battery, and the post are unbelievably corroded and + post was almost coming out of the case....
I went to the dealer, got the OEM for 118.00. got it in, and it is good as new.
Thanks for all the help here. I appreciate it.

I advise you and everyone to keep an eye on corrosion...seems like the wire harness that runs under the battery is susceptible to damage from battery acid and corrosion...another member just posted about it causing $3600 worth of damage...

yeah, I saw that thread which had the posted photos of the wire damage yesterday. Very dumb place to put a wiring harness. Typically, the vast majority of batteries are "maintenance free" so unless they fail, people have little reason to mess with them (outside of just basic cleaning of your terminals, etc). Sad thing is...batteries are typically considered a basic "maintenance component" by warranty and not covered by most Ext Warranty or service contracts. Problem is...most contracts are written to disclose that "failures to covered components CAUSED by the failure of a non-convered component are excluded from coverage". So...if the non covered battery leaks and destroys some electrical components....you're probably out of luck....warranty or not.
