Default Cabin Air Filter Tray/Frame

Hi,

I recently purchased a 2011 GS 350 AWD and I asked the dealer to replace the cabin air filter as part of the deal. This dealer was a non-Lexus dealer. The cabin filter was gross and needed changing. The frame was there when I bought it. So when they replaced filter the idiot or whoever did it decided to throw out the tray/frame.

Now I would like to find a filter tray/frame and install the appropriate filter myself. Because at the moment the filter is just resting on top of the fan in HVAC unit floating around. Which is not good at all.

Anyone know of where I can get one of these frames? A part # would be huge!

Thanks,

L

I was trying to find it for you but I am not sure which part it is. Check this link out and it has a diagram of all the GS parts for 2011 RWD

Hate to break this to you but I bet your recirculation function is probably broken too.

If the door that moves up and down over the filter is moving freely then they (or somebody else) broke that too. I bet half of 3GS out there have this broken.

Hi so i got the part. i called my dealer and they gave me the part number and I ordered it online. 16 shipped.

i installed it today and noticed that now my recirculation door doesn't operate like it used to. MOTHER *****!

My car is still under the factory warranty. Now the question remains, is this eligible?

Probably not. Looks like the morons that "installed" your cabin filter also broke the re-circulation flap. This issue has been covered extensively on this forum.

If i was you i would go to the dealer and tell him to repair it he clearly broke it through ignorance
i.e. not checking the hand book for the procedure to change it

By the way there is a repair kit for this like the other poster said half of all gs 's are running around with this lever broke.
Th trouble is if you don't follow the procedure you don't even know you have broken it

So I went to the dealer today for an unrelated issue.
They wont cover this as they said it was an outside influence, that they didn't do...
That other small fry dealer is not going to even bother. I can try but I already know the outcome. Its border line pointless and useless of my time to even try.
I feel like I am not going to get anywhere with this issue.

Maybe I can go to another dealer in the area?

My question now is what is the complaint I present to them? (My windows are fogging up?

I dont know....

Can someone send the link for the repair kit post?

Thank you.

I don't think dealer will cover something that is mechanically broken due to some idiot not following directions. Try the place that actually broke it, see what they say.
