Default just ran tech stream

on wifes 07 GS350. Did health check and got a couple codes for A/C. B1421 and B1424. Solar sensors and I did the check inside my garage. Was wondering if I did it again out in the sunlight would that clear them? Anyone notice these codes?

I saw such codes on my RX 2007. After they have been erased, they never appear again. Maybe this is one time malfunction?

Huh, I had no ideas they did this...

DESCRIPTION
The solar sensor, which is installed on the upper side of the instrument panel, detects sunlight and
controls the air conditioning AUTO mode. The output voltage from the solar sensor varies in accordance
with the amount of sunlight. When the sunlight increases, the output voltage increases. As the sunlight
decreases, the output voltage decreases.
The air conditioning amplifier detects changes in the output voltage from the solar sensor.

What's wrong with using a thermostat, jeez...

Do it outside. You won't get those codes then.

they can't use the light sensor to do temperature, it's completely different. You are reading it wrong.

I am guessing the thermostat and light sensor give the same feed to the computer. They are 2 different feed but they act the same, the feed for that sensor increases and decrease and the computer need A/D to translate that voltage to digital.

Well, what they're saying is basically if the sun is stronger run the A/C "more"... but if you're setting cabin temperature and want to maintain it you only need a thermostat. Perhaps what this accomplishes is to allow the A/C to run at a more reasonable power level as to keep it on more constantly at a lower power rather than doing a lot of short cycling at full power. It still seems strange to me - way too many little things to break in cars these days.
