Default Upcoming maintenance

Planning on taking the vehicle to a indy shop for some maintenance work on the car. (2007 GS 350 91K miles)

-Oil change/ Filter
-Break fluid Flush
-Differential flush
-New water pump + New Antifreeze (noticed some pink residue assuming its may be the pump)

Anything else I should consider?

Also, can't seem to find how much break fluid I should buy checked the owners manual but doesn't specify.

Thanks in advance.

I'm savings the plugs until 100k. I usually pour in a bottle of Lucas every 2-3k miles any difference

between the two? Yes, throttle body will also be cleaned. Glad you mentioned the TB is it easy to

remove and clean it? also, I remember seeing in a previous post to replace the seal once you

remove and clean the TB is it necessary?

Just buy a 32oz bottle of brake fluid and you'll be fine. For the TB, at 90k i would suggest replacing the gasket. You can buy on ebay or rock auto or through sewell lexus

Did you do your transmission flush? That's very important, especially since you're at 91k miles. I only recommend you get this done by the dealer.

I'm thinking about doing that at the 100k mark with the spark plugs. Definitely will be done at the dealer, thank you.

So, I know this has been beat to death... but my dealer insists that this isn't necessary and they don't want to do it.

I know the fluid is supposed to be "lifetime" but that there are studies showing it isn't necessarily "lifetime" after all.

How much have you seen this service go for?

Also... I believe the spark plugs are a 120k service. No need to replace before then!

That's fine also, just keep in mind that at 90k miles, your transmission oil is pitch black.

Check KuWuPt's thread for reference.

If they don't want to do it, send it to a Toyota dealership. Your oil definitely has to be changed. as per manual even in Canada it says so.

In reference, when they say lifetime of the car, they meant lifetime of the ownership of 1 person.

Mine's was, I believe $140 to change.

As far as spark plugs, I changed mine's early, because I dont believe the porcelain can withstand past the higher mileage mark. I've previously owned a vehicle and let the spark plugs sit for the entire 120k miles (give or take ~2k extra). And the Porcelin portion shattered into pieces. I'm sure the quality of the Denso's are much better than the brand I used, but it's just a precautionary step I take.

I would however, since it isn't TOO hard to take your spark plugs out, is if you see a browning on the porcelain section, consider changing your spark plugs out, as it's only $60 (for v6's) and $80 (for v8s). That's about a day of lunch I can skip for peace of mind

you will need 13 quarts of WTS. I used 12.5 when I did mine and the .5 ran out the dipstick tube when I was topping it off. My Lexus dealership refused to do it as did the Toyota dealership. Neither had the dedicated BG machine for just WTS. They also ran T-IV through it and said the WTS would get contaminated. My fluid was not completely black at 80 some thousand miles. It still had its viscosity and I did not notice any change in the shifting. Four thousand miles later car is still running fine.

You probably could go without changing the tans fluid and still be fine but fluid is fluid just can't be lifetime. Besides, I'm sure if you do change it you're only doing good to it. My only concern is getting the job done right considering it's not something that is changed every few thousand miles.
