I can vouch for this method. It works!! Took me approximately 15 mins to do BOTH sides (10 mins for the first, 5 mins for the second since I was more comfortable after having done it once).

I used a very small flat head screw driver and covered it with masking tape. I also used the flattest plastic knife I could find to help me hold one side open as I continued to pry along the edge (in the pic I believe a fork was used). You can tilt the mirror and loosen the bottom screw closet to the door (DO NOT remove it all the way) this helps a lot as it gives you a starting point to begin prying. This method does require a little finesse but it's very easy to do w/o causing ANY damage.

Also, I have a 2010 GS and despite what I've seen in other post you CAN NOT tilt the glass to get to both bottom screws (no matter how much you try it's not possible to get to the bottom screw farthest from the door, you'll just strip the screw), perhaps other model years are slightly different, but I don't know. I've seen this done on the '09 and '10 IS but not the GS.

Further, I cannot speak to the "remove the mirror" method as it seems to have worked for many people but I can say this, I tried this method MANY times and with a significant amount of force the mirror WOULD NOT BUDGE. There's no way I was going to risk breaking & having to replace my mirror to install a $15 LED, which is what lead me to the pry method.

Admittedly I was a little apprehensive about this method initially but if I was able to do it (with the relatively small amount of automotive expertise I have) I'm confident that most of the people on this forum would be able to do it. It's a really understated mod but looks really good. Good luck!
