Default Paint chips

Any idea why my 2009 GS350 has chipped paint. Has anyone else had this problem with their GS before? This chip is right by the drivers side front sensor. The front bumper has not been re painted and is stock.
Thanks in advance

touch up paint maybe but its gonna look awkward, just stay away from following behind trucks on the hwy because all the rocks they shoot can do so much harm on the paint... iono about lexus.. if you have metallic paint the whole piece would have to be sand off prime and paint again... a good $300-400 job

Looks more like the paint is peeling from the edge and not a rock chip. Maybe a defect in the paint or the process.
I find Lexus paint is rather thin and many people will agree to that.

I've had bras on my cars since I can remember...never mind, it's been awhile.
I've used Colgan, and have no regrets. My cars aren't out in the sun all day, in spite of 'living' in the Arizona desert - the benefit of being retired. Fortunately, the climate here isn't conducive to rust. . I don't like clear bras, and won't use them. However, no Colgan, or any other was available for my GS when I bought it. I will get the front of my car painted before I sell it, however I don't assume it will happen for the next five years.

Seen it around one of my own tow panels and on the right side doors on my 2006 GS430.

I'm just reinforcing it with touchup paint. I probably won't re-paint unless I get into an accident or if it gets so bad that it affects a quick glance visual of the car.

Other wise, no one really notices.....with silver paint anyways.

I would have it checked at your Lexus dealership to see if it's a defect in the paint that they would respray for free . Can't hurt to ask.

hehe... some dealership, NOT ALL, they test and try out these guys who fix rock chips on the vehicle. so far my dealership is still looking for a good guy, i believe the rate is 50 per rock chip? (a bit expensive IMO as a full repainted bumper= $250 for me).
