I think it's like $1800 for an OEM windshield. There is another brand, that's just as good for about $250. I'll have to ask my friend from Central Valley Autoglass what it was.
I just replaced my windshield here in Montreal Canada about 3 weeks ago, after a stress cracked all the way across, right by the wiper heaters, and just after my primary warranty expired.
i chose the dealer to ensure it was done with OEM seals and clips since some have to be replaced, as well in case they break anything else while doing it, it would be replaced with OEM stuff. (they did break the clips on the cowling under the wiper arms, and replaced the entire piece, as well a brand new clips holding the side molding in place).
I felt more comfortable with OEM glass, in Montreal is was only 80$ more than after market Pinkerton glass done at some small shop,
i paid 1043$ tax and installation included. for OEM with rain sensors etc...
they cover it also for 1 year if anything at all happens, as well as lifetime for the chip repairs.
You might check with your insurance company as it might be covered under the comprehensive part of your policy so you just have to pay a deductible. Mine is $100 and I think I am on my 4 th windshield...thing is a rock magnet.
