My navigation screen was hit while loading skis in the car, it now doesn't illuminate now. I can tell the touch screen part still works, I just can’t see anything. I assume the back light is out. I was able to remove the screen, but does anyone know where I can get a replacement for a 2006 GS? Or any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks

 

unfortunately the screen is bad now and yes you can replace it but only as a complete assembly and only a 2006 screen is a direct replacement. the dealer wants $4k for it.

others want 1800-2200 just for used screen

i still have mine complete out of my 06 gs430 for sale and if you dont have nav can be easily added or you can buy just the screen from me and save

 

If you pick up one from another GS can you simply swap it out or is it programmed to the specific vin in some way? Is this something you can DIY or have any shop perform or do you have to go to Lexus?

 

Screens are never programmed to any specific car. The unit as a whole might be locked. Not the screen by itself though.

If you broke just the screen and need screen replacement only, they've come out with replacement LCD screens now. Just do a google search for your year make and model LCD screen.
