Real wood?
Is the wood in the 3GS Burl wood? Some one told me that seems like plastic to me

all wood on all lexus are real wood. it's not full solid piece, but there is a real wood overlay (thin piece) on top

It's real, but it's a veneer on top of plastic and then coated in more plastic.

I always thought they are plastic. I actually "tattooed" "wood trim" on my Toyota Corolla panel so I thought they are done in the same way.

Soild wood veneer over a plastic trim, it's has a thick clear-coat which preserves the wood, but gives it plastic feel.

just saw a nat geo show on how bentley trim pieces are made.. they do the same thing..

pretty sure the steering wheel is solid though. at least on the RX. there's a video on the Lexus website showing how it is made.
