Default headlight question

ive had my 3gs for a few months now but cant sem to figure out if the headlight washer works. i bought it used and it says on the sticker that it has the headlight washer. i press the button but nothing. i do this while the car is parked and on but i dont think ive done it with the lights on. i know in the chrome bezel around my headlight there is a small piece around 2 inches that is not connected. like i can remove it, on the bottom. havent tried though.lol. just wanna know if it works and what do i have to do to see if it works?

yes that little piece is what connects to the head of the sprayer. your headlights have to be on for it to work.
