storage question
My GS is going to sit over the winter in the garage. Wondering if I am better to get a battery tender or just disconnect the battery and let it sit. I probably wont touch the car for the next 6 months with winter around the corner and I have no use for the car at this time.
Battery Tender (one that has a storage mode), fuel stabilizer so the fuel doesn't varnish, and optionally you can fog the cylinders though that is a pain as it involves removing all of the ignition coils and spark plugs. Also optionally is to remove the load from the suspension tires by putting the car up on axle stands to preserve the suspension and prevent flat spots from the tires. You can also just make sure the tires are a bit overfilled with air and if you can roll the car a bit every few weeks.
This is standard procedure for storing my motorcycle for the winter, the same applies.
The best thing you can do is just drive it through the winter, there is absolutely no reason to garage a GS for the winter though it sounds like maybe you have other reasons for not driving it.

The GS has become a 3rd vehicle or I would drive it as I had in the past. Trust me its not that I want the GS to sit for 6 months but market is terrible on the car so its better to just keep it.
so I called and talked to a tech and they said, fill the tank up and dont put any additives, take the battery out of the car and place it up high so its off the cold floor, and put a car cover on it
