Sidemarkers?
not if you paint it well.
and isn't there a rubber backing to the sidemarker as well, so that should seal it
It should not cos more than $100 for any motorsports shop to installed the sidemarkers; drilled, sanded, cleaned, primed, and touch-up paint the areas before the final installation of the sidemarkers.
None of that is necessary if they know what they are doing. To avoid all of the above, they will place several layers of masking tape on the fender, draw an outline of the hole on top of the masking tape, then drill the metal through the masking tape. No paint damage, all you need to touch up is the exposed metal edge inside the new hole.

I had them installed but it was all part of the installation of my body kit and the car was completely painted. Someone mentioned drilling the fender but actually with the side markers I got you had to cut the fender. The side markers have two plastic clips that lock into the fender wall so you pretty much have to cut the fender the shape of the marker but with a smaller opening so the marker sits snug and then there is the wiring to make them functional. So your talking about more than just a couple of hours of labor. At say $50.00/hr you could easily look at $200.00 (2 hr per side) unless you do it yourself.
