Default VIP Puddle Lights Install

I did a search before posting. What I'd like to know is, where would be the best place to wire up these VIP puddle lights? I had an 2Gen xB and I wired it on the dome light and worked perfectly. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I found a DIY that was connected to the "welcome lights" but it's for the IS model, difference is the GS has the PF mirrors which has more wiring. Any ideas?

I wired them on a friends car, i used the driver side foot well light, this made the puddle lights delay then fade out that looked very vip vs just shutting off when the door is closed.

I tapped into the footwell light on one side which was sufficient for both and you basically have to take apart the door panel and tap into the yellow wire that leads from the mirror to the harness for your power and the green for ground or wherever else you would like to get it from. I know this is an old thread but whatever.. Just so someone sees it.

The 2is forum has a good DIY on installing your own VIP puddle lights from all the basic material needed.

having them fade in and out is the best look. the best way to wire them would be to wire them with the interior lights. most likely you should be able to tap it in the kick panel.

interior lights are controlled by a circuit board in the dome area and you cant really tap into that.. if you know of someone that did please let me in on it thanks!
