Yep they were already on my 450H. I did however modify them to LED's to make them brighter and whiter.

to the best of my knowledge, no GS comes standard with jdm puddle lights (it is an aftermarket modification). to clarify, jdm puddle lights refer to led spot lights mounted in the side skirts.

what you are probably referring to is the puddle light in the side view mirrors. that came standard for the 2008+ GS (as well as the 2010+ 450h).

my 06 has the puddle lamps in the mirror and they do fade in and out as you get closer to the vehicle. it would be awesome to have these on the side skirts!!!!

damn, having a brain fart. lol! yes you are correct; i was thinking about the led turn signals that were incorporated into the side view mirrors starting from 08+ onwards

and yes, they are awesome when the puddle lights on the side skirts sync with the led puddle lights in the turn signals and turn on/off at the same time

I'm planning on doing a ***** load of light mods to my car soon and puddle lights is going to join that list
I have an LS but my car also has the mirror puddle lights you guys are talking about and it would be sick if they faded with them when you get next to the car and such but wouldn't that be the only time you can set them to come on or would they have a separate switch where you could control it manually?? This where I am getting stumped... Brain farts FTW!!!!!

wiring is always your choice on what you want to do. you can do 3 things. have them setup the same way as dome lights (having them fade in and out when the doors open and such/automatic) or you can have a switch for total independent use or finally you can do both.

This is where I'm stuck, how would you wire both in? If I were to tap into the foot well

you would wire the lights normally to footwells. and then add a different 12v source thru a switch and install a diode. the diode will prevent the switch from activating the footwells and only activate the other lights.

dont know the exact wires and stuff. but im sure if you give me a picture of the wiring of the footwells i can help
