Default GPS Screen Glare Problem???

Might be a stupid question to some but I have had my 06' GS300 for a few months now and the GPS in the daylight especially on nice and sunny days gets hard to see with the way it is tilted. Besides doing nothing, has anyone figured out a way reduce the glare? I wish the GPS screen was covered more like BMW has them, or how the RX350 now has it.

Thoughts?

Is your sunroof open?? I only get glare when the windows and sunroof are open. Have you tried polarized sun glasses or adjusting the nav screen setting for contrast and brightness???

depending on the location of the sun this can happen. i have encountered it quite a few times. not much you can do. some people put on the screen protector that's laminated, dunno if that will help much. but otherwise, not that much you can do to improve

that's one main reason lexus go with the remote touch on the 2010 rx, so they can put the screen further back and have a shade over it

Yup already tinted, everything but front windshield. I was thinking of something from the rear view mirror to the windshield to block the light coming down on the GPS and making it difficult to see at times.

RX350 and BMW have it right with having it up and a cover over top of it. Just one flaw I have found that could be slightly improved on the 4th gen GS!!!

the glare and the finger prints, those are the downsides of touch screen nav

I only have this issue rarely when driving with the sun roof open.

tint your front windshield. i just did mine, and it helps tremendously. 50% up front, 40% the rest of the way around. noticed a big difference immediately. they also make a screen cover for it, i believe Carson has it...or Lextacy. one or the other....

If there is a screen protector on, take it off, that will help a lot.
