Default transmission issue?

Something really strange happened when I was reversing out of a parking stall a couple days back. As I put the car in reverse and started moving, the car jerked pretty violently going back (like when you brake violently on a slippery road and ABS kicks in). However, I was going extremely slow and the ground wasn't slippery. Since there was nobody beside me, I just moved back as little as possible and put it in drive...nothing out of the ordinary happened shifting to drive or putting it in reverse later on.
This was after the car was sitting for 45 mins in an underground parking lot and the ground was dry. It was around warm outside 10*C outside (50*F). The GS 350 is a 2007 with around 17,000 km (10,500 miles). Car is serviced regularly at Lexus.

I certainly hope this isn't a sign of transmission damage. There are reports of transmission issues/replacements on the IS 350 which shares the same A760E transmission.

Sounds abnormal. Very low mileage for that year. I've never had a car jerk because of ABS.

You can try scanning for codes. If there are no codes stored and unless it happens on any regular basis then don't worry about it, there won't be much point in taking it in if it's not reproducible. The good news is that you have years left on your powertrain warranty for the tranny to explode.

Yeah, the car has pretty much been babied since it was purchased. It is driven 100% city though, so lots of stop and go. No burnouts or anything like that.

Well it wasn't exactly like ABS, but the same type of thing (shuddering/jerking). Definitely was abnormal, and has never happened before/after that.

Yep, I will give it a go tonight hopefully (OBD scan)...it's probably going to take a while to find the connector...
Yes, I have tons of warranty left (it actually started in July 08 and goes to 2016 or something), but was wondering if this was a sign of bad things to come.

The OBD-II connector is always located in the driver side footwell under the steering column. You can't miss it.

Another thing might be that one of your brake calipers or parking brake shoes got stuck. Did you notice the trac/skid light blinking while it was doing this?

If you're worried for your car, I'll drive to vancouver and trade you. Mine has never done anything like that. :P

Thanks for the info...I'll see what it says. It took me an hour to find the connector on another car (it was behind some trim pointing towards the firewall)
No, nothing was on in terms of lights apart from the usual. No CEL or anything.

Not looking to trade, sorry, but a meet sounds good if you are planning a cross country tour

I'm sure somebody would want to see my 100% stock GS with lots of dings/paint chips...well not mine anymore actually (although still in immediate family).
