Default Is dash noise still a problem on '09's??

From browsing this board, I have seen that dashboard rattling/ticking is a pretty common problem on GS's. However, I have really only come across posters who own 06's or 07's. Is this still a problem on 09's, or did they finally iron it out? I just want to know if I can expect similar problems. Thanks guys!

Depends how picky you are. It's not like the cars rattle more than the vast majority of other cars out there, it's just that expectations are set high because of the badge. Even at the noisiest my car ever was (before I fixed it 90% using a sock...), it was still 10 times quieter than my Matrix ever was.

If you look for a noise chances are you'll find it, if you never even knew to look would you have even noticed? If a tree falls in the woods but nobody is there to hear it, does it make a sound?

I had rattling sounds on my 2006 Model GS300 AWD. It is a simple problem that has to do with several pins that are below the dashboard near the windshield. I placed a headband between the speaker cover and the windshield on the right side of the dashboard and the noise stopped. The dealership fixed the problem and its a service bulletin that is well known by Lexus dealers. Don't worry, take it in and get it fixed and it will never return. For 3 years now I have been happy with my GS.

If it does, it's an easy fix. I brought mine back to the dealer. No questions asked, replaced the pins and I think they might have added some extra padding. Got my car back next day and it's been free of any "loose" noises since...and i live in Toronto Canada where the temperature has dropped a lot recently.

I hope you are not comparing your GS with a Matrix The GS has more rattle problem than most cars in the $50000 price range, but of course, if you compare the GS to a $14000 matrix, then its solid as a rock I cannot remember the last time i stuff a sock in the dash board in a $50000 luxury sedan to stop rattles. I do not look for rattles, but if one can hear it over the radio, then one cannot ignore, can he?

To the OP, I know the rattle problem still exsit in the 08 model, I am not sure about the 09s.
