Default Lexus Rims

Whats the deal with the rims on the GS cars? All paint on the rims on my new, to me 06 GS300 are all bubbling and look like crap. Is this a known issue with these cars or is it just my car.

Same on my car. My 3 year older Toyota that I traded in for had perfect alloys and they had been driven through tons of winters. Something changed with the finish applied on these wheels, and it clearly sucks.

I'm taking my car in for service, Seat Belt recall and I'm going to try and pitch a ***** to the service manager and see what happens.

This is something they probably would have fixed if it was complained about during the basic warranty... since I bought my car outside of basic warranty, not much to be done about it.

When I did go to a lexus dealership to talk to someone about it, the service manager showed me a whole stack of rims exactly like mine all with the same problem. I never did hear back from them about it so I figured I was out of luck.

Hmmm.. never had a problem with my rims... good as new (except for some curb rashes- my fault). It must be the salt in wintry climates... we don't get much if any of that here...

What do you use to clean the wheels? Abrasives will damage the finish.

I use car wash soap and wheels have clear coat coming off. No salt roads around here in Florida.
