I have a 2000 RX300 and lately since the weather started getting colder, I have a noise in my dash. This is temperature related, but cannot determine what the noise could be....not a metal to metal but more like plastic coming from the center of the dash under the windshield.

Anyone else here this temperature related noise???

 

I came across this problem by accident. I was working with Lexus Service to troubleshoot a pinging/rattling noise. They immediately thought about the dash problem. Apparently it isn't insulated correctly. This is covered under your warranty as a defect. They will have to take your dash apart and better soundproof it for you. I assume your warranty is still good. Tell 'em Hando sent ya

 

heard a noise for the first time in my 2002 this past weekend. weather is colder now. maybe it is a common problem
