Question gs comp?

I have 06 gs 300 awd, it's a great car, but i just hate it how the gs computer tries to take control away from the driver . It's trying to be too safe. Is there any way I could over ride it so I would have more control of the vehicle?

Turn the car off and push. U'll have full control of every inch it moves. LOL

There are a few things U can turn off, like traction control. I think the instructions are also in your owner manual.

You cannot turn off traction control on the AWD models. It's integral to the AWD system.

The traction control (TRAC) switch resets if you increase speed or turn the engine off. On pages 160-161 in the '07 Manual, it describes overriding TRAC and VSC by holding the button down for more than 3 seconds, and that it will stay off even if you increase speed. I assume it resets after you turn the engine off however.

Anyone ever try this?

you can turn the trac off via holding the button in the tip forum there is a way to disarm the vsc it involves turning the car on and a combo of hitting the brake and emerg brake then brake then emerg brake i ve done it before it kinda cool, here it is i found it; Disable VSC/TRAC

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Make sure the car is in Park and the parking brake is disengaged before you start the car.
2. Start the engine.
3. Engage the parking brake.
4. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.
5. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.
6. Disengage the parking brake.
7. Fully depress and hold down the brake pedal.
8. Engage the parking brake, the disengage it (while holding down the brake pedal).
9. Engage the parking brake, the disengage it (while holding down the brake pedal).
10. Release the brake pedal.
11. Engage the parking brake.
12. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.
13. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.

* When the "Check VSC" icon is displayed in the multifunction display along with the "Trac-off" icon indicator, you'll know that you have successfully complete the procedure! Your car is transformed!

*** One the car is started you have 30 seconds to complete the process. With practice, the procedure can be completed in app. 15 seconds, unfortunately, must be repeated each time the car is switched off (all systems are returned back to normal).

I also feel like the traction control system in the Lexus is very intrusive relative to my old Infiniti. I hated it when I first got. I would tell you to turn the system off but I am sure it snows in Illinois and you will probably need all the grip you can get

Well it's actually snowing right now =) I just don't like how the lexus system cuts of the gas once you begin to drift. Got to go try that pedal combination. should i turn off the afs as well?

I keep mine turned off they aren t all that beneficial to keep on unless your running the slalom through the mountains and i d hate for them to get stuck turned and have to pay lexus a ridiculous amount of $ to get them fixed, I could only imagine what it will cost since they want to charge $65 just to adjust them

I know This is an old thread. Hopefully some one can help. I have an 06 gs300 awd. The pedal dance illuminates a (!) light but doesn't actually turn off the traction control. Seems to only turn off the stability control. I can see the trac light flashing and can feel it. Seems like the throttle controls the traction and not through the abs system.
I purchased an oem traction switch and was going to wire it to a relay and disable the abs. Im still going to do that but will it even disable the actual traction control system if it is controlled in the throttle body?
Thanks in advance
