Is there a trunk sensor somewhere? Just installed a seibon trunk and the trunk opener does not work anymore. Can't open from the keyfob, or from the button inside. The trunk only opens by using the key or the latch from the inside. When I press the button on the keyfob, I get a long "beep", but trunk doesn't budge. Auto-close function doesn't work either. The button in the glove box is not set to valet.
Funny thing is, the motor worked perfectly fine before we put the harness in the seibon trunk. I think it might be the motor since there is TSB on it; its just weird how it happened to break when it got transferred to the new trunk. I want to see if there is a fix before I take it in to the dealer.
Yes, the seibon trunk is not much lighter than the factory trunk. It's not double sided cf, and its still relatively heavy. Can't seem to figure out why the latch doesn't want to open automatically.
The entire wire harness and trunk opening mechanism is transferred over from my oem trunk to the seibon one. I was wondering if there was some sort of sensor that knew when to autoclose, or maybe something that triggered the keyfob. Of course it can be the motor.
Because the harness was unplugged, it needed to be reinitialized by Lexus. But I guess that didn't work and the problem was the junction block, part was ordered by Lexus and will be here in a few days. I guess it is some block by the fuse box or something, I'll post the part number later for future references.
