3GS wheel thread
Yeah, that's exactly what I plan on doing once I've gotten some miles out of my current setup. I sort of like the 275/30 (r) 245/35 (f) setup, it only rubs in the front when I turn the wheels hard. I'll definitely go with 285/25 - 245/30 when the time comes though.
I agree with 187. I just went through this with my car. My current setup is
20x9(f) w/ 245/35/20 - some minor rubbing
20x10(r) w/ 275/30/20 - absolutely no rubbing at all
My car is dropped on NF210's so I'm sitting about 1.5" lower in the front and 1.1" lower in the rear considering I have a GS-h which causes the springs to compress more than any of the othre GS's. Go to my garage to see pics of what my car looks like right now. The NF's give the GS a nice look.
I've spoken with some enthusiasts who know alot about this topic and they've all said 245/30/20 in the front are the way to go.
Go wide in the rear if you can, the rear can take a much wider setup than the front. Then again, I think your rim offset would also need to be taken into consideration to be absolutely sure.

245 on 10 is stretched most likely. even 275 it can be a bit stretched depending on brands
and you realize 275/30 has the exact same profile height as 245/35 right? what makes you think the 35 is better then? fwiw, i have been running on tires like these for the past 8 yrs, never any problem. and i have hit my share of potholes
My 225/30 for my 9 inch fronts were on my porch when I got home this afternoon, the Vredestines have a rounder sidewall so it looked stretched already. Soon as the salt gets washed away I'll go have em mounted up

im into stretched tires, and wheel fitment, as you can see in my photo, 30 series tires on a forged wheel will cause bends in the long run as i was told from my friend who owns VIP MODULAR. if you have a cast wheel by all means run rubber bands, but when your spending $1500+ per wheel, extra cushioning is always a good piece of mind

on my hre wheels (yup, more than 1500 per wheel), 245/35/20 and 275/30/20 no problem.
and still though, my question is, why you think 275/30 will likely cause bends than 245/35?
that's actually what i want to understand, how can 35 have more cushion than 30, when it's just an aspect ratio and the actual cushion size (profile height) is calculated using the width (245 and 275 respectively), making them BOTH having very close profile height?
Because not everyone knows "aspect ratio". Many people automatically assume 35 is thicker than 30 when not properly educated on tires. They usually take words from a friend then apply to everything.
i have no problem with 35's maybe because im maxed out on camber, i see a lot of wheels come in to my friends shop to be straightened and they were running rubber bands, im into stretched tires, so in my opinion i feel 245-35-20 is perfect on a 10.5. oh well each to their own right?, from what i am seeing in this forum a lot of people are more enthusiast then into the vip scene

with all the stretching, what i can tell you is, 245/35/20 on the 10.5, it will actually have less sidewall height in real life compared to 275/30/20 because of stretching.
