Default mirror memory

After I correctly set the seat and sideview mirror memory positions, all is well. But I regularly find myself depressing the memory switch, so the mirrors will go to their preset condition. I'm assuming that perhaps after the mirrors tilt downwards after placing the vehicle in reverse, they don't return to their original position. Since no one else drives this car, I can't think of any other way they would stray from my presets. Anyone else experienced this problem?
Thanks for your input.

Your mirror gears could be failing. I had both mirrors replaced under warranty since they would not go back to the same place after reversing.... after the replacement, I actually turned off the reversing tilt function to avoid the problem in the future.

Ohh brother i think every lexus is like that. You preset, memorized, reverse the mirror goes down comes back up a different angle. same here. i went to lexus about that problem and they replaced the memory "engine" but it still does the same thing.... I gave up on all my defects on my 07 gs350

Hmmm, our 06 GS, and our 05 RX work fine. Love that particular feature in both our Lexus.

I have the same exact problem. I constant have to reset the driver side mirrow. I took the car in yesterday to get it fixed. They had to order some new parts and I will bring it back when the parts are in. It sounded as though there is a slight modification to the parts I will be receiving. Hopefully, it is a fix for the issue.

Just curious, how do you turn off the feature?

I believe you put the adjustment switch between in the middle (between left and right) and leave it there.
