I have an 06 GS300 and I just started getting this clattering noise upon start up as well...

 

the TSIB might fix it i havent tried it yet b/c the noise disappeared after doing an sny. oil change but im pretty sure the clatter is ganna return it always does.

 

Sounds like the current GS is not as reliable as the last generation. There is a rattling problem, and not a startup clattering problem as well? And the scariest thing is, the problems come back after they're fixed?

 

my car does it sometimes..not all the time tho

 

I get it very rarely too. It sounds really bad, like something metal is grinding against something else metal

So lets see, here's my issues:

This problem
Dashboard squeaks like styrofoam in the winter
Dashboard just creaks like cheap plastic all summer long so far
After reversing my mirrors don't go back to what they should be

SIGH

 

has happened to my 07 gs350 as well, only a handful of times, but every time i hear it, it freaks me out, like the engine is going to die a minute after.

havent heard it in the last month.

only 17K on my 3GS.

 

Brought it to the dealer - couldn't reproduce the noise, so nothing was done.

 

powertrain warranty is long enough.

don't sweat it

 

i get a clattering noise when i accelerate some times.......doesnt happen very ofeten though.........almost sounds like knock

im going to take it in soon to see if they can figure it out

 

Just use your camera. Make a short video and send it to the dealer. I was chasing that for couple of days every time I started the car...

i have this issue as well problem is it doesnt happen often and i know the dealer will say there is nothing wrong

 

Tell them its the 06-07 IS/GS Cold Start Knocking.. Issue Thats what they verified mine to be.

Luckily for me when i went to get it checked out it did it in the pull up bay for all customers to hear

It should be ok, they are very well aware of the issue. I showed them my video and they didnt asked me a single question.

 

I got exact same mileage, year, and same problem....
