4. pick her up 10 minutes before mall is close;
5. problem solved.

---> you know I am kidding, right!!! <---

Seriously, I had the followings done to repair that noise:
-->TSIB EG7027 ENG KNOCK @ COLD START
- gear assy, camshaft;
- gasket x 3;
- gasket, timing chain;
- gasket, camshaft bea;
- insulator, fuel pump;
- gasket, cylinder hea x2;
- gasket, air surge ta.

-->TSIB EG20-07
- just software update.

For all these, take about 6 hours to do the work !!!

I had it done almost a year ago, thus far still noise free!!!

I think the mall fix is cheaper, Lexus techs around here charge $130 an hour

so it looks like we have to change all these parts every 50k miles.

great...........

time to buy Cadillac.

Sorry to report, I have a 06' gs 300 with 14k miles and I have heard this clatter at start up a few times now. I'm thinking switching to synthetic oil might help?

I have an 06 gs300 and I experienced the noise every so often. When I brought the car in for an oil change, they did some needed recalls. I didn't say anything about the noise. However, after that, I cant remember ever hearing it.

I thought I was the only one that had this problem. The dealer has been denying it ever happens. Between this noise, my squeaking brakes and the injector noise. I am so proud that I have a quality car like a Lexus.

I have an 06 GS430 and have never experienced that problem (thank goodness). I can relate to the clattering wife
Been married over 20 years, considered trading in for a new model on a couple of occassions (lol) but decided to keep her. I just nodd my head and say yes honey now and we are fine. (JK)
