Default Rusty rotors edges......

If I use some type of sand paper, is it possible to get the rotors edges cleaned a little. What number sand paper should be used?

it doesn't matter if it's rusted at the edges, it's normal. i wouldn't bother with sanding, the rust will come back again. and you really don't want bits of sandpaper and rust shavings on the rotors and brake calipers.

^ I agree. Either replace them or you could use ceramic caliper paint so the "look" better and hide the rust temporarily.

rust on your brakes. I have never heard of such a thing. then again I grew up cali and live in AZ now. NO humidity or moisture. No wonder they love to buy classic cars from CA and AZ

not on the brakes, I meant the rotors itself, I am sure you know what I am talking about. I guess you guys are right, I shouldn't worry about it.

its normal and you will get that any time a car sits for a bit. as soon as you drive and you use the brakes once, it usually all comes off. its just a little surface rust.

Hes talking about the perimeter of the rotor, the outside edge. It’s pretty common area for rust, but it is only surface rust. It will not cause any issue besides looking bad. I find that almost all Japanese cars have this problem and rust on the center of the rotor, less so on German cars.

Like I said in your other thread, you can paint, but if you really want to make it look perfectly clean, get the rotors cut and put in some new pads. If you are going to paint, don't sand the rotor surface, just sand the hat.
