Since I'm keeping my low beam stock (4300k HID) and just got 3000k HID fogs, I need to replace my amber DRL [edit: parking] lights to match better my low beams. I looked into v-leds website, but they have too many choices. Lots of other places sell led replacements (194 type), but I heard a lot of leds burn out quickly. Can anybody recommend a reliable LED replacement for our 3GS DRL [edit: parking] to match closely 4300k low beam lights? Thanks!!!
You meaning 194 for the parking light not DRL. I have try a few type of LED, most of white ones are too blue. I havent try the warm white color yet. I ended up porlarg tinited 194 bulbs, they were a good match.
I guess I'm a little cornfused You saw my at-night shot picture. The picture does exaggerate amber color, its not like that in real. But nevertheless. I want to replace that amber color with one matching low beams closer to their 4300k color. I did a search on the forum, and found one thread where parking light, DLR, and 194 is being mentioned all over the place. Can you please explain it to me where is DRL and where is parking? How to get to those? Which type of bulb to use for which one? And which one I should replace to get rid of that amber light? I would also really appreciate if you can provide some links where you got these. I'm sure a lot of others in the same boat and will appreciate it
The DRL is the high beam, 9005, at 1/2 power, its on when the headlight is not on. The parling light is the little bulb on top of the high beam bulb in the same housing, its a 194. I use these 194 bulbs:
... another "noob" question. I actually just played around with lights to see what is on/off. I do see those little parking amber lights in the same housing as high beams, angled from a side. Are these "on" only when car is in park and off once you start driving? I put car in neutral and those lights were still on.

u'll probably never find a LED which match factory HID color.
the easiest way is to buy the cheap white light bulb,
since white light bulb is designed to match HID color.
Polargs or LEDs don’t match 4100k HID. Polargs are closer (around 5000k) and LEDs are worse (around 6000k). If you choose LEDs, go with a bulb which has at least 11 leds on it (8 around, 3 on top). Search and you will find my post with pics.
Chrispy links a parking light LED that seems to be right on the money. I'm going to order those as well. MP posts pics between the M4s and the newfound LED.
I just got mine. They are by far the best matching parking light bulb I have gotten!!!

Those are warm white LED, of course every manufacturer is diff, but most of the time warm white is on the yellow side when compare to the oem, but the warm white is still closer to the oem color than the super white. I wish someone would just make a 4300K LED, you would think thats a no brainer, since most of the owm HIDs are 4300K.
