Default Unknown button/switch in the drop down console box

i did a search on this, but did not find any answers....

when you open the drop down console box, there is a button or switch in the top right hand corner that is unlabeled. does anyone know what that button do? maybe it's a button that is used only in japan? anyone know?

Could it be the missing tire pressure reset button, which is AWOL, as best I can tell, on the 2008s? (Pushing this unlabelled button did not reset the tire pressuring warning for me, but maybe something else is going on with my 2008).

Also, does anyone know what happen to the on-line manuals that used to be easily accessible on lexus.com?

The TPMS reset/initialize button way below the steering wheel, almost next to the OBDII plug.

Do you have the power sunshade?

Do you have park assist?

it could be either.

I looked again and I don't see it there. By the way, what is an "OBDII plug"?

it's right underneath the steering wheel column, behind the "nice" plastic airbag piece. there is a black cover, and it's a row of pins

pat, i looked, that's an empty button for me too. my guess is it might be jdm option, maybe the led drl? sunshade is top left

There was a thread on this a couple years ago when the 3GS first came out. The "missing" button is for a JDM-only option but I can't recall exactly what that option was. I've been looking for pics in the old threads but have not found it yet.

It's the port to connect an OBDII digital tool, which I use to reset the wayward "Check VSC" error codes that pop up when the gas cap is loose.
