amazing write up i used to do all my oil changes but between the work to do it, the clean up, and going to dispose/recycle the oil, its worth it for me to just take it somewhere to get it changed and just pay for it

Ok guys, here is the correct amount of oil (from the last page of my manual):

Model - Quarts With Filter Change/Quarts Without Filter Change
GS430 - 5.4/4.8
GS350 RWD - 6.6/6.2
GS350 AWD - 6.7/6.3
GS460 - ?
GS450h - ?
GS300 RWD - ?
GS300 AWD - ?

Someone else will have to provide the values for the GS460, GS450h, GS300 and GS300 AWD as my 2007 manual does not include those. I am sure that they would not be the same.

Nice write up. One question - In the pictures I saw 5W-20 synthetic being used..I thought GS350s utilize 5W-30. I believe that's what is shows under the hood on the engine oil cap. I also checked the Mobil 1 website and they recommend 5W-30 sythetic for the GS350 2007- ..am i missing something here?

5w-30 is fine. See the link to the TSIB in step 13 of the write-up which recommends 5w-20 for the GR series engine. 5w-20 is ok and is superior with regards to fuel economy and performance (because the viscosity is lower at operating temp). Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

Hmmm....I just went to that site and saw that the the specific TSB you mention was last updated in Aug 2008. Upon looking closely, the TSB specifically mentions that TSB is specifically for all 2006 models - the last year where the GS300 engine was still in use. It was in 2007 where they changed to the 3.5L engine. It probably is ok to use 5W-20 though I would personally stick with 5W-30 until I hear them specifically call out the 2007+ year models.

Default TSB - Oil Question

I too read it to apply to 2006 GR engines...its a bit confusing. My car is a very late 2008 car and the oil fill cap says 5w30. Unless I can get more clarification, I'm sticking with that. Thoughts?

Quick question guys, will it void your warranty if you change your own oil? I have 07 RX350 with similar set up but afraid my warranty will void if I change myself. What if I order the oil and oil filter and keep the receipt. I've been changing oil for my other toyota for years.

Thanks.
