also is it me or do the headlights get dimmer?
they will get dimmer over time until the bulbs die. but it shouldn't be linear, meaning it should stay pretty constant for majority of the time until the end when it deteriorate much faster

I don't see that, seems a lot are people with stock cars.

My car is actually doing the same thing every night now. Driver side headlight. Will ask the dealer if its something with the ECU.

it seems like theres a thread like this on a weekly basis now. make sure your connections are tight for the bulb. if they are, try swapping the bulbs to the other side. if the same headlight is acting up, it could be a bad ballast. if the other headlight is doing it now, it could be a bad bulb.

My car is i the shop right now for this issue. My passenger side headlight would turn off & then turn on again with a quick on/off flick. At first i thought it was the bulbs, so i purchased new Philips 6000k bulbs. Those only lasted 2 weeks so I took my car to an independent dealer to see what they'd say. Lexology tells me it's the ballast & I need to replace the entire headlight assembly since the ballast isn't replaceable in the OEM assembly(???). Does anyone know where I can find a good aftermarket headlight kit? I refuse to pay $1200 for a Lexus headlight.

Doesn't the 3GS uses the same ballast brand as the 2GS?

Hi,

I have this problem again, first it was the driver side headlight moving up by itself, now my right side dies on the highway. sometimes it doesnt some times it does. i took pictured and even a video of the lights not working. one time both headlights went dead. Im going to take it to the dealer and get everything under warranty. last time i went they gave me this " we could not replicate the problem" so this time i have proof.

they told me it would be under warranty and everything should be fine. im on stock btw.

Thanks,

The dealer ended up replacing the bulb. It's been a few days and the headlights are ok so far.

i have this problem as well, i am running 5k low, parking and fogs. my left low beam lights also does a small blink, like the fuse is weak or something and it turns off, i would sometimes turn on the lights and look at it.

1. could it be the ballast that takes up all the voltages, like another member mentioned?
2. could it be the batteries after running 4-5 years that hasn't been replaced?

hey guys, this issue still hasn't been resolved for me. you wouldn't believe all of the bull***** i've gone thru so far trying to get an HID kit for my 06 GS300. It looks like the problem is the ballast (as mentioned earlier in this thread). Does anyone know of an HID kit from a reliable source? I'm not having much luck with this & I'm surprise I haven't been pulled over yet *KNOCK ON WOOD* It would be an additional help if the vendor was close to CA for quick shipping. Let me know. Thanks!

rominl, i thought about going to a junkyard, but i figured "new" headlights from a junkyard would cost more than a ballast kit ($150 +/-?)

nos fed, does your GS not come equip with HIDs? I thought all 3GS' had HIDs? If you need a ballast, check ebay. Their pretty cheap. Any where from $60 to $90
