Default Headlight Problem

Hey Guys
I been having some problem with my Driver side HID headlight, when I turn it on and drive it for a while it will go out and I had to fire it up again and sometime it will be fine and stay on but some time it will go out again and I have to do the same procedure again. It is kind of weird that my headlight will do that. It has been fine for the last 2 years or so. Does anyone might know what the problem would be and what I should do about it. Please help me out thanks!

have you tried swapping the two bulbs and see if the problem is still on driver side? that can tell if it's a bulb problem or ballast problem

did you change out the bulbs? when I had the IS350 many of us where having this problem on the driver side on with aftermarket bulbs. If that is the case I think this may be the issue but you can check. if you swap them from side to side they will work when you fire them up but this problem with the driver side will not go away.

I have Garax in the GS and I havent had the issues I once had with the IS. If they are OEM and its under warranty just have the dealer take care of it.

Someone had the same issue here earlier and it turn out to be the bulb, not the ballast.

A while back, I was pulled over by a Cop because my driver's side headlight was out, and I was like "WHAT?". I went out and check and it was out. I turn the headlights off and then on, and they came back on.

The other night, I started my car and noticed that the driver's side headlight was flickering. Then After few seconds, it went out. Turn the headslight off and on again, and it was fine.

I guess I'll try and swap out the headlights when I have time. It seems like it's going to be a lengthy process to change the bulbs.

First let me ask you where and from who you bought your extreme hid D4s from? If you got them from xexondepot.com, I would suggest you to swap them back to oem bulbs. There has been many incidents from members here with xenondepot bulbs having melted ballast. Do a search and you can read all about it.

oh wow that doesn't look good

no matter what, the "easy" way is to swap the bulbs and determine if it's a bulb or ballast problem. otherwise it's nothing more than a wild guess

Waht do you mean by melting the ballast? The ballast has a metal casing.

Default Factory HID right headlight shuts off by itself, no warning light??

Hey guys, Long time no post. As the title stated, I have a headlight that shuts off at will and I don't even know it. I've only had my car for a little over 2 years and it has 24,000 miles on it. BONE STOCK (not like my old car).

I always have my headlight switch on "auto" and after a couple minutes, the headlight goes out; but there's no warning light for headlight failure. I turn my headlights on and off and then both headlights are functioning just fine again.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is this a warrantied item?

I had the exact same problem as well........just take it to the dealer and they will take care of it for you. They told me it was the ECU that is operation that light that is making it do that......they can just order a new ECU for you for free......

Bad connection, bad ballast, ect...nothing to worry about since its warranty. This was happening to a few 2gen ISx50 owners.
