Dude beerum........i never got the pics u sent me but sht thats pretty bad. Take their advice, if it comes to a decision between keeping and totalling it i would total it and get a new car. From what i know frame damage is very hard to fix. Think of a unibody frame being bent and twisted, or crushed. Straitening it out will only fix so much, you will always be left with damage that is unrepairable. Also, repairs might lead to more problems like weird sounds coming from your car that will annoy the **** out of you...i would know...right?? Anyways...good luck, ill call u up sometime this week.

Bad news are in. Total loss. Hm, getting a check for $414XX.XX. I guess now I don't have to worry about it not ever going to be the same. Sigh, I guess I didn't want it totalled because I never wanted to let go. Bleh. Time to wait for 09 or look for an 07. Might be a farewell from this forum but I'll see. Damn, I really liked the Blitz lip for the 07 too. Never had a chance to mod the car to my tastes. But better that I crashed with no mods than pour all my money into it first.

Did you say bad news? I think you are one lucky dude not having to wait for them to fix your car for 3 or 4 months and get it back and it drives like crap, mechanical problems everywhere and rattles everywhere. Just roll around in all that money and decide what to buy next, how is that bad news

Thats the BEST news you could have!! That car needed to be totaled without a doubt! The car would never be right again. Be thankful it is being paid off and you can move on.

Yeah well it's good and bad news. Now that I've cleared my thoughts it wouldn't be smart to ever drive that car again. But that car was 100% perfect imo. Haha time to look for a black on black 07 or be the first one with an 09! I really don't want another other car. And if I can't find a black on black GS 350, it's probably gonna be an IS350!

Its like your loan was for $45,000 and insurance pays you $35,000 for your car the gap insurance takes care of the $10,000 not payed off yet!!!

I think thats how it works!!!!

yea thats how it works. if the car get totalled out and the check you get cut is for less then what you still owe on the car, gap insurance covers the difference so your not left paying the rest of it off on a car you dont have

OK, so yesterday I was stopped for a red light, and this individual stopped behind me driving a Hummer became distracted and rolled into me. Its tow hook hit and minimally damaged the center of my rear bumper. The Hummer driver didn't realize she hit me, and I had to follow her and wave her down. She subsequently admitted fault to me, her husband and her insurance company (Geico), and I'm taking my GS in for an estimate tomorrow. I hope I can get a new rear bumper vs. a refinishing job, as the bumper is dented as well as scraped up. The car isn't a year old yet. Do any of you know if the issue of 'diminished value' applies to this apparently minor situation? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Sad but true... your GS3 does not qualify as "Lexus certified vehicle" anymore...

Therefore, you will take a hit when you decide to trade it in for another Lexus...

(Same thing had happened to me, hit&run in the parking lot... had to replace the front bumper...at the time my toy was only 2 weeks old... )

Thanks slk dds,

I figured as much. Prior to getting the estimate, I'm going to the Lexus dealer and see if the used car manager can give me an idea of the difference in the car's worth before and after the accident.
