Yesterday a friend of mine accidentally slammed my trunk too and now the auto-lever isn't working. I've tried the trunk release button in the glove box, but that didn't work either.

Is there another way to fix this?

Given the way the autoseal works, I highly doubt that slamming the trunk can cause it to fail... the actual motor that pulls it shut isn't even located in the trunk lid.

From your post it sounds like it opens fine, but it just doesn't pull it shut if you gently close it? If that's the case, do you hear anything when you close the trunk? You can usually detect the whir of a small motor that is basically just winding the strap around a spool.

Im able to open the trunk, but the motor that usually pull the trunk isn't working. So Im not sure what I need to do to get this fixed. It looks like a simple fix, but just don't know what to do. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Got caught in this situation again. Is there a quick fix to the trunk issue? I hate going to the dealer and paying $200 to get it fixed.

Did not even know that, thanks!
