Thumbs down Trunk Failure.(update - user error)

Now my car's trunk no longer opens. WTF. This is so stupid. Last time I
accidentally slammed the trunk instead of letting the electronic system kick
in, but it was nothing out of the ordinary, in fact it was way gentler than
a typical trunk closure on a typical car

Anyone else experiencing this issue? You would think that Lexus would
have enough experience designing these that they would make it reliable

I don't know about you guys, but at this point this might be my last Lexus...

EDIT : Never mind. User error...

Before you do that, make sure you didn't accidently activate the valet trunk lock-out button located in the glove compartment on the left hand side.

Ooops, that is exactly what seems to have happened.

There you go...........

"I don't know about you guys, but at this point this might be my last Lexus"

Now you should go and buy two more Lexus vehicles.

Glad it was an easy fix.

No way, it's already got 2 strikes against it (rattles and seatbelt).

Remember it's a 50K car, so it has to be perfect or else I'll ***** about it

Actually, it's ONLY a 50k car, so it must not be perfect

The same thing happened to me. I put up with it for a few weeks before searching for an answer .

But it got me thinking:
What if the gas tank lid locked up like this? Is there any way to manually open it? Or would you be totally screwed if you needed gas far from home?

Pressing the trunk button in the glovebox brought my trunk release back to life. Thanks for the post. It saved me an embarrassing call to the Lexus service manager.
