Default Smart Key and Theft?

Since It's winter in PA where I live and there seems to be no remote start available for smart key yet. Does anyone know if I start my car to warm it up and go back into my house can someone just get in and drive away with it? It may be a dumb question but in the summer I had my car running and one of my a-hole friends got in and moved it to the other side of the house as a little ha ha but that got me to thinking how far can someone take it without a key? Does It have any kind of timer built in with X munber of minutes without key detected it shuts down? Thanks.

Once the car is running and you leave with the key in your pocket, anyone can get in and continue driving it until they shut it off.

it would have been really nice if they programmed the car to shut off if the FOB is out of range for x amount of minutes (user defined) and it would shut off automatically.

Exactly my point...the liability for Lexus is too great!

Just another stupid question.. What if you've got the keyfob in your pocket and you manually lock the car while it's running and come back 5-10 minutes later when it's warmed up.. Will it let you use the remote to unlock it or does it assume you're in it and refuse to allow the remote to do its work? Just another thing I've not tried yet..
