Default Replacing headlights with

All, I purchased some headlight replacements for my 02 GS430 from ebay:

"1998-2005 Lexus GS300 GS400 GS430 Headlights Headlights Left+Right 98-05 Set; item #362558894036."

My mechanic whom is doing other work, seems to think they will not fit because of the auto adjusting sensor. Can someone verify if they will or will not work on my lexus?

Don't only the HID headlights have auto-leveling? If you have the factory HID headlights, those won't work.

If you have factory HIDs those bootleg lights will work but you will have to moddify the wiring harnesses. BUT, you will also have a beam level malfunction light on the dash because there are no actuator motors (auto. beam level) being used and of course you will need to aim the light manually. However, if the beam level module (attached to the driver's side HID type headlight) is not being used and its not plugged in the beam level indicator may not light up at all. Double check if you decide to use the bootlegs.

Good luck.

"Will work"

Anything "will work" if you change everything to accommodate it.

I am looking at aftermarket headlights as well, but I do not have HID lights. I am good on any aftermarket headlights correct?

What? No, the aftermarket OEM-style lights are for the halogen model. In the case of OP's, it says so right in the description. There's no modification needed for this.

You can convert your HID model leveling headlight to these cheap ebay headlight with veeery little modification. All you have to do is remove your hid headlight ecu so you wont get any warning indication on dash, leave all the harness for headlight motor unplugged or taped up. Add 9006 harness to fit non-hid 9006 bulbs. Ez.
