I did that before moving to 18s. I think it looked good.

lowering ALWAYS look good, and I think that's the 1st mod that'll be very nice. See if you get bodykit first before lowering or rims, it'll look funky.

Thumbs up Lowering

Bit & Globe R right - I lowered mine & only stepped up to 17's ( had the factory 16's originally ). It'll look OK because the factory 17's are chromed & flashy as they come from Lexus. Be careful - U may end up getting 18's or larger after awhile - I did!! BTW - why spacers? Don't know your budget but there are several makes of wheels that would give U the wider tires in the back U seem to want. Matter of fact, I saw some awesome HRE 19's in the GS Classifieds. Might want to check 'em out!

by the way which brand is the best in terms of ride quality and handling?
i was thinking either H&R or Eibach.

Thumbs up Eibach's OK

I can only speak for the Eibachs & I found that they firmed up the ride slightly but really reduced the body roll. I'm happy with them!

Thumbs up Lowering

I've heard the H & R's lower the car about 1/2" more and are stiffer. For me, I went with the Eibachs; got them from tirerack.com and love them. They lowered the car about an inch, really just enough. I found the ride to be a little stiffer, but gone is the floaty feeling. I'm running the 17" chromes, and they now fill the wheel wells better. I'm also using the factory struts, I didn't change them as some others suggest you do. I've had the Eibachs with the stock struts on for about a year and they are fine. When the stock ones go, I'll go with Bilsteins. Definitely go with the springs, it's a great first mod!
