I've got a dash squeek near or being caused by the windshield defroster vent. It squeeks in colder weather (or when I have the AC on) and does it even on the tiniest of bumps. Grrrr. Service had checked it a few weeks ago....said the defroster vent was just loose and they just clipped it back in....but they said if it continued, they'd have to rip out the entire dash to fix it. Well, it went away for that day and came back

Anything I can do? I know the car is under warranty....but I really hate taking the car in for stuff like that...

 

I have the same squeaking sound in my car too.... the dealer did end up taking the dash apart, reclipped the vent, added felt, etc...

Problem went away for a few days, then came back.

At this point, I think I'm going to have to deal with it -- my car seems to have those gremlins that just don't appear when the technician goes on a test drive with me. Sucks!

 

I think the local dealer has a remedy for it...if your car is under warranty..they should take care of it for you FREE of charge.

 

any tsb's for this that anyone knows of???
