Post Rear Badges

Would any one know what is the best way to debadge the rear trunk lid? I know if i take out the lexus symbol there will be holes. But what would I use to clean off the lexus and gs300 symbol? Thanks

wassup,

well i just debadged this weekend and I used dental floss and bug and tar remover that was safe for my clear coat. And if you take the L symbol out there are no holes. Just remember to wax the area when your done. hope this helps.

Peace

Like Orkin said use Dental floss to remove the badges. If you want an easier way, use a heat gun or blow dryer and heat up the badges for a little while and then use the dental floss. Should be easier that way since the glue is heated up..Good Luck

GooGone works, too. Bug and tar removers available at all your basic KMart, Target, Wallyworld, or any auto parts store found in same aisle with waxes, polishes, etc.

If you've got some fishing line (10-15# test), it's a little more durable than dental floss, which I snapped several times when doing mine. And I left my "L" badge on............

I think I bought the bug tar remover from wal-mart just make sure it is clear coat safe and yes if you use a heat gun or a blow dryer it is easier. I just left my car out in the sun for about 15 minutes and started debadging. But remember do not use the bug and tar remover in direct sunlight so after you debadge let your car cool.

I have used Goo Gone several times and it works perfectly. Just remember to wax the area periodically to prevent scratches no matter what method you use. The dental floss/fishing line is the best way to remove the emblems.
