We might have figured out the problem. Tried the second received ecu and the car still won't start, pretty much doing the same as before. Read another CL members thread about "changing timing belt and car won't start". He had similar symptoms as me in regards to one coil firing once then stops.
He had a bolt that fell into the cam cover which caused his crank gears to break tooths. His thread spark something in my brain, and I then remembered that when we were doing the timing belt, front main seal, cam seals, and VVTI cam o-ring, my brother noticed one of the teeths on the crank gear was broken(happened before we got the motor). Don't know why my brother didn't tell me to replace the crank gear then.
Just got the harmonic balancer pulley off today and behold one teeth on the crank gear was indeed broken off(confirmed). A second was bent and when we touched it just fall off. I'm gonna replace the crank gear with the crank gear from the 2JZGE VVTI engine next week. So hopefully this will solve the issue, and if not the VVTI cam gear is next since we did replace the o-ring on it.

My brother was also saying the same thing, but apparently the crank sensor wave forms were constant throughout cranking and showed no deviation. I guess you can't always be 100% sure with these Aristo 2JZGTE VVTI using the Pico diagnostic tools. Next Monday I will know for sure once I replace the crank gear.

Replaced the crank gear, put timing belt on and turned the crankshaft one rotation and again one tooth broke while turning. Checked crank sensor clearance and looks good. There were no other interference we saw that would break the crank gear teeth. We took out the crank sensor to double check it and looks like the tip was bulging, couldn't see it while it was still installed.
So now have to order another crank gear. I'll just use the crank sensor from the 2JZ-GE VVTI engine since they look identical.

Oh good, looks like you found the problem. That bulge would of been hard to see like you say while still bolted in aye.
Let us know what the outcome is once you get everything hooked back up.

Cam to crank comparo by ecu
Some 15 yrs ago or so, i was checking a mazda which while cranking would spark about teo cylinders then stop.
Turns out the ecu looks and compares cam position to crank position and if its not happy, it shuts down the spark to prevent catadtrophic failure.
Hope your problem is solved.
