Thanks for sharing. I certainly got some joy out of it despite the self-appointed moderators who feel otherwise. It's fun to think how the GS400 was the world's fastest and best-handling mass-production sedan, if only for a little bit before the M5 showed up. Lexus may be boring but they're sure built top notch.

^^ Oh my.
And I wasn't aware it was labeled the fastest auto sedan in the world, I too thought it was just the fastest in general.
As mentioned, the M5 came out, and the AMG supercharged version of the E55 came out in 2001 where as before it was NA. Have to admit, that is still a very fast car by todays standards, especially with some mods.
Did anyone see the Australian version of "Something wicked this way comes?" It mentioned the GS having "Formula 1 bred suspension." I didn't know double wish bone front and multi-link rear was that rare back then. It was either marketing, or there is more in common with F1 in the GS than I know compared to normal double wish bone/multi link suspension of the time.

I'd totally believe the suspension tech was ahead of its time. I know for a fact all my bushings and struts are worn out and yet it drives completely satisfactory. I can't wait to see what it's like when I refresh everything.
