Please Help With Upper Arm Control!!!
Hello All CL members..
My car is a1999 Gs400 with 143K miles. I just bought this car 3wks ago. Yesterday I was doing some works(I'm an amateur, I've learned most of the DYI rite here on this CL forum from experienced members that are sharing their knowledge with ppl like me. Thank u all very much). While BOTH of the front wheels were jacked, I did the 12-6 position trying to check for bad bearings but while I was pulling, pushing the wheels with my hands on 12-6 position, BOTH of those wheels move, at the sme time, the upper control arm wiggles a little bit(I believe the knuckle where the rubber bushing is).. Any CL memeber have experience with this issue and wnn share is greatly appreciated.

=ThomasGS4;7174487]If its loose, replace it. I had to replace mine about 2 months ago.
The probable cause is most likely the the upper control arm or maybe wheel bearing?
I'm just a learner..
Thank u very much for ur input ThomasGS4

My mistake originally was i did the front end thefirsttime trying to save money using "egay"parts and i got burnedthats when the lbj went out then i redid them using all oem parts and i have the paper work in hand the lbjs were 140 a pc through bay ridge lexus and the upper control arms were 350 a pc ( come with balljoints) but i did use moog for the links , bushing kit and rack n pinion bushing kit and im using kyb gr2 shocks stock springs
Dnt evr use ebay parts i learned the hardway .......at least my experience with them

How much were the upper/lower Ball joints on both side? I called a couple Lexus dealers and they want $116 a peace. I was looking online for the Moog brand from Federal Mogul ones and they are cheaper. Any experience with Moog ball joints?

OP...if you notice play at the 12+6 position and can visually see that there is play at the spindle arm and control arm, then replace the upper control arm. I had that same issue and a new upper control arm fixed it.

Pole Position
Just did my passenger side with Detroit Axel. Replacement looked very solid and so far with 100 miles the car drives fantastic. No more squeaks
