Another modified stock intake
My PCV line vacuum fitting snapped off, and I wanted a little extra induction noise, so I took a leaf out of GS400V8's book and chopped off the stock resonator on the intake tube. I cut a slab of the plastic out of the resonator box, cut it down to the right shape to cover the hole, drilled some holes for new vacuum line fittings, epoxied everything together and replaced all the vacuum lines with longer ones.
All in all I paid a total of $7 for a box of vacuum fittings, a box of the wrong size vacuum fittings, and some JB Plastic Weld epoxy, thanks to O'Reilly rewards. Normal cost of the needed parts would be around $13 if you buy the right size vacuum fittings the first time.
I also deleted my power steering idle up valve due to leaks, so the smallest vacuum line that was supposed to feed that valve now runs directly to the engine. The computer didn't like that direct air path and I was getting some noticeable hiccups off the line under light throttle, so I plugged that vacuum line with a small wire nut and left it installed for a clean look and in case I ever get a new idle up valve.
Here are some pics and a video of the results.

Nice! My DIY was kind of buried in my build thread, so this is nice to be more out in the open for people if they want to try it. For a few hours of dremeling and $10-15 dollars of epoxy and hose I thought it was worth it.
Did you notice a big sound difference in person?
I went crazy and cut those resonator mounting bolts in half with a dremel and put them back on the valve covers.
Not to tempt you more, but I cut out a section in my air box too. It faces towards the passenger fender well, and the hood snorkel/other side of the box make a natural barrier protecting the new cut out area from the engine bay heat.

The difference in sound inside the car is subtle but noticeable. The engine sounds bigger and a little deeper. I thought "Mustang-ish" when I first heard it. Quite nice.
